CHARACTER

A bare sandy slope with exceptional macro potential and no reef scenery.

Secret Corner is a true macro site. The coral-free sandy slope rarely offers schools of fish or large marine life, but it can reveal mimic, coconut, Mototi and blue-ringed octopuses, flamboyant cuttlefish, hairy frogfish, Rhinopias, robust ghost pipefish, seahorses, mantis shrimps and juvenile fish. Night dives can be especially rewarding. Currents can be strong, so timing around the tide and a local briefing are essential.

CAMERA & APPROACH

Cover less ground.
Make better images.

Move slowly and stay neutrally buoyant above the sand. Work one small area and wait for natural behaviour.

Local briefing

This is an orientation guide. Current, visibility, access and sightings change. Let Critter Republic and the local guide make the final dive plan.
